Platform_Toolchain_MacOS

Product: Platform_Toolchain_MacOS, native macOS compiler pin (repository Platform_Toolchain_MacOS). Layer: build infrastructure, not linked into any product and not safety-rated.

A thin, versioned wrapper over the native macOS compiler toolchain (Xcode Command Line Tools' AppleClang, and Homebrew GCC if installed) — not cross-compilation. Its job is reproducibility: pin exactly which compiler/version built a given Platform_RTE binary, rather than "whatever happens to be on PATH."

Usage

./setup.sh # once, after cloning — resolves the active compilers, creates bin/ wrappers
./verify.sh # compiles, links, and runs a trivial hello-world through each wrapped compiler

Then from any Platform_RTE CMake project:

cmake -S . -B build-macos-pinned \
-DCMAKE_TOOLCHAIN_FILE=./cmake/Toolchain-macOS.cmake

bin/, lib/, include/, COMPILER_VERSION are gitignored and generated by setup.sh — rerun it after an Xcode/Homebrew update to re-pin.

Interface exposed to other products

Interface Form Consumed by
Toolchain: cmake/Toolchain-macOS.cmake -DCMAKE_TOOLCHAIN_FILE=<path> passed to any CMake build Every C product that needs a native macOS build with a pinned compiler

Nothing links against this project. It is consumed only by CMake and by the RBC_Test_Env build scripts (build_toolchains.sh).
